mDistribute.com Upload Guide
mDistribute provides a simple web-based interface for filmmakers to upload film content in MPEG-4 format, describe the film, and finally set pricing for the film. Once you upload and receive approval for your film, you can sell licenses to mobile content buyers in our marketplace and prices you determine. To get started with your first file upload, simply click the My Content menu item from your account, and then click the large Upload button to get started.
All licenses you sell through mDistribute platform are royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide and perpetual!
This means you charge a one-time, upfront fee to each licensee for permanent and global digital (web and mobile) distribution rights to your content. You can sell as many of these non-exclusive, royalty-free Licensing Agreements as you want for a single film.
Rules & Guidelines
Upload in MOV or AVI in the HIGHEST QUALITY FORMAT possible.
Prohibited Content: Copyrighted material, hardcore pornography, racist and violent materials, and other obscene or inappropriate content. Please check our Member's Agreement for the latest information on Prohibited Content.
Film Rights Ownership: You must own the appropriate distribution rights to any film you upload to mDistribute or have permission from the rightsholder. Our staff monitors all uploads for suspicious content.
Staff Review: Our staff reviews each film uploaded to the platform to assign a Quality Score as well as monitor for copyright infringement and inappropriate content as outlined in our Membership Agreement.
Quality Score: Each film uploaded to mDistribute is assigned a Quality Score between 1 - 3, which may positively or negatively impact your film's sales in our marketplace.
Describing Your Film: Many of our content buyers rely on the film descriptions, particularly the Awards and Description fields, to make a buying decision on a given film.
Setting a Price: The vast majority of mDistribute content sells under $300. We recommend trying various prices for your content to see what attracts buyers at various price ranges. $50 - $200 is a good price to start at for most content.
